Where Women Rise, Reclaim, and Restore Their Lives
The Souza Foundation is built on the belief that domestic violence is a community issue, and that means the solution has to be one too. There are many ways to be part of this work, whether you give your time, your resources, your expertise, or your voice.
Donate
Your donation goes directly toward the most urgent needs women escaping domestic violence face right now. In Contra Costa County, the Section 8 voucher waiting list for domestic violence survivors has been closed for over three years. There are no government housing vouchers currently available for women fleeing abuse in this county. Until that changes, private donations are the only way to pay rent, utilities, and household essentials for a woman who needs a safe place to land today.
Every dollar you give helps us provide transitional housing, trauma-informed therapy, financial literacy education, job training, and farm-to-table wellness programming for survivors who are ready to rebuild.
Host a fundraiser
One of the most powerful ways to support the Foundation is to bring our mission into your own network. Whether it is a dinner party, a workplace giving campaign, a community event, or an online fundraiser, we will support you every step of the way.
Become an investor
The Souza Foundation is actively seeking mission-aligned investors who want to do more than write a check. We are building something lasting, a permanent tiny home community in Contra Costa County where women can live, heal, grow food, and reclaim their lives. If you are interested in being part of the Foundation's early investor circle, including the opportunity to join us on site visits to the organizations we are replicating, we would love to connect.
Partner with Us
We are actively building partnerships with housing providers, healthcare organizations, legal advocates, employers, and community organizations across Contra Costa County and the greater Bay Area. If your organization serves a similar population or has resources that could complement our model, we would love to explore what we could build together.
Volunteer
We are building our volunteer program now and would love to hear from people who want to show up for survivors in a meaningful way. Whether you have professional skills to offer, time to give, or a specific talent you think could serve the women in our community, there is a place for you here.
Areas where we welcome volunteers include mentorship and life coaching, financial literacy and job readiness support, legal and accounting guidance, wellness instruction such as yoga, meditation, breathwork, and art therapy, childcare support, event and fundraising assistance, and general community building.
A note from Alana, the founder
I built this Foundation because I know what it feels like to have nowhere to go. I know what it feels like to leave with nothing and have to figure out everything from scratch. The Survivors we serve are not statistics. They are mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends who deserve more than a thirty-day shelter placement and a referral list. They deserve a real path forward. Whatever brings you to this page, whether it is a donation, a partnership, a volunteer shift, or just a share on social media, thank you for being part of this. It matters more than you know.
With gratitude,
Alana C. Moore
